Volunteer Training
How are Volunteers Trained?
Volunteers are required to submit a volunteer application, three references and complete a pre-training interview. The Hospice professional staff provides an 18-hour training program several times each year. Individual interviews after the training identify each person's individual area of interest.
Requirements
All volunteers are required to demonstrate understanding of OSHA regulations related to Hospice care. Volunteers must also pass a tuberculosis (TB) screening and be fingerprinted. Volunteers complete an update training session annually.
New Training Available!
Helping Hands and Train the Trainer are now available. Find out more by downloading our latest issue of Growing Volunteers (see page 4).
