Care in Your Own Home
Hospice of Dayton will work with family members and the family physician to assure the higest quality of care can be provided in your home. Training necessary for family care providers is available from Hospice of Dayton through our Transitions programs, and continuing support will be provided in the home by members of the Hospice of Dayton professional care team.
Expanded Home Health Aide Services
Hospice providers are required to provide home health aide services as part of hospice care. Hospice of Dayton has identified the need for assistance with daily living activities as one of the most critical needs of patients and has expanded home health aide support as needed. Home health aide visits are tailored to the individual needs of every patient at Hospice of Dayton, enabling patients to receive as many aide visits as needed up to 7 days a week.
Helping Hands
In addition to offering traditional hospice support services such as bereavement support, respite care and home health aide support, Hospice of Dayton has developed a program to assist family members who may need help with practical concerns both pre and post-death. A new widow or widower may need instruction on processes that were previously handled by their spouse, i.e. balancing a checkbook, cooking nutritious meals, handling insurance claims. Our Helping Hands program is designed to help families find the resources they need both before and after the loss of a loved one to ease the burdens of fear and uncertainty that can come with unfamiliar responsibilities.
